Dr. Katie McCoy serves as Assistant Professor of Theology in Women’s Studies at Scarborough College of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She holds a PhD in Systematic Theology from Southwestern (2016). Her research focused on Old Testament laws about women’s personhood and what they teach us about women’s dignity and social justice.

Katie has a passion for connecting global women’s issues with a biblical perspective on women’s value. Her dissertation is on Old Testament laws about women and what they reveal about women’s dignity, and the Church’s social responsibility to women worldwide. As a teacher, Dr. McCoy hopes to engage her students to think critically and to equip them to communicate biblical truth with grace and strength. She is a contributor to Baptist Press and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, as well as to Devotional for Women (Broadman and Holman). You can follow her on Twitter @katiemccoy.

On this episode of Uncommontary, Dr. Katie McCoy joins host Marty Duren to talk about some biblical implications of gender.
